A recent study shows The Key to Weight Loss Success isn't the Diet….

Investigators from Tufts-New England Medical Center published an article in the Journal of the American Medical Association, in January 2005, which determined in a study of four popular diets that the key to successful weight loss is not the diet itself, but actually the person's capacity to FOLLOW THE DIET!

In this one-year study of 160 overweight adults, the researchers split people into four diet groups, here's what they learned: all of these diets worked when the participants in the study followed them. The problem is that less than one in four were able to stay on their given diet for just this one year!

"This morning my husband asked me to make chocolate chip cookies with lots of chocolate chips and chopped walnuts for him to take to work. Sounds yummy, Huh! It is more than 12 hours later and I have not eaten one, nope not even one and have no desire to eat one. Now that is unheard of, to be sure. At lunch I left food on my plate!!! Last fall when I started with Brittany in her Skinny Genes Program I did not lose weight as I was being very rebellious and did not recognize it, but Brittany did. Either I was not willing to do it or my authoritative figures were too powerful because I did not cooperate and I rarely did the homework. "Hi Britt, Thanks for keeping track of us graduates.  There was so much to say, and I hope it helps. To answer your questions: I lost 30 lbs total in both the 6 week and Advanced program. About 20 lbs. in Advanced. I know my body can release more, seriously, but I was spooked by the amount of weight I lost then and how easily it came off. The ease of the release of weight in TandT was so different for me after I struggled so much before. 

I think my metabolism has actually changed with my brain! 

Binging: I'm still trying to get my bearings being thin again. I binge about 1x per week but now I eat much less when I "binge". Now when I catch myself eating beyond being full, I connect with my emotions, appreciate and love them, and do something else I enjoy. Before this program I would eat a large bowl of ice cream sundae just about every evening, then move on to junk food rationalizing that I'll lose the weight tomorrow. Now I use the tools from Think and Thin. I eat fresh simple food. I initially tapped for ice cream cravings. I have eaten only a couple of scoops of ice cream since I started last July. No guilt. I sometimes do have emotional eating urges but I know what they are and that's okay. I thank them for being there to let me know something is up. 

Before, I ate mindlessly, I ate any time, any where. I now recognize that I was taking Xanax in the form of food. I ate anything I could put in my mouth proud that I wouldn't starve because I could eat anything that's available. I know now that I am not starving, eating was a diversion I used to keep me from facing my truth. Once I understood within my deeper self that I'm not made of my emotions, and that I can actually separate emotions from food, it was completely different. 

With years of therapy before TandT, I have learned more about myself that would have taken years to bring up. I still find echoes, take care of them quickly, and now they are interesting facets of me rather than being scary ghosts jumping out from the past to hunker down protected under a plate of food. 

What helped in Think and Thin Advanced: Tapping for cravings, mindful eating, chakra work. I read Anodea Judith and and was amazed how the chakras coincide with what I studied in clinical psychology. Echo tapping was definitely helpful, Pushing food away and throwing it out, lettuce for dinner. Lots of echoes cleared. Lots of support and your being available for us.

Your guidance in TanT about healthy eating was so helpful. Even my husband is staying away from the GMOs and processed foods, trying to eat organic and grass fed meat and dairy. Not 100% yet but very conscious of it. I want to keep this quality of life and now I prefer healthy food choices that just taste better to me. I do exercise 1/2 hour to an hour a day for at least 5 days a week. 

I have actually been exercising for many years and it feels so good to be more strong and flexible now that I have lost weight! Having said that, I'm now 128 lbs at 5'5"". I love where my 6/8 dress size has taken me. Now fortunately I'm healthy at 67 (68 in September) depression is gone and I on the whole feel happy. 

This weight loss due to Think and Thin Advanced is different with no deprivation whatsoever. It's a new relationship with myself and with food and this transformation affects the quality of my life not only in my body being lighter, but how much more richly I live my life. So many things to do, enjoy, and explore besides eating. 

All the credit for your great work, the thorough supervision, intensive training, detail, and support you are offering has been really strong for me in what I've experienced in your Think and Thin Advanced training. "Hi, I was unable to listen to the live call, because I'm in Australia and I was at work (for both of the times). I have now listened to the recording and it was amazing. I've been doing EFT for a couple of years and I've seen an EFT counsellor to help me with my weight issues, but it had the opposite effect unfortunately. ...Identifying the blocks was so useful - I the emotion in the food and I'm too sexy... Doing the Ball of Light exercise was amazing. I became so emotional once I took the emotion out of the chocolate and formed the ball of light, I immediately felt like I was about to burst into tears - there just a rush of emotions in my chest. I didn't actually cry, but there were tears in my eyes throughout the exercise and there was a huge decrease in my cravings - I have more to do, but I know this has made a difference. "My eating habits have changed SOOO much. Im only in week 3 of the program, no weight loss yet - but seriously, my mental relationship with food is SO different than when I first started! I've actually developed a DISTASTE for fast food - which is insane. I still get urges to grab food while I'm driving, but when I think about where to go, nothing ever sounds good so I just come home. I used to have snacking cravings all day every day, but now I only get them at night after dinner. I know I still have a lot of sabotage/anger work to do - that's going slowly but surely! It seems like I'm always the worst right after I tap, so I have gotten into a pattern of a few weeks on, a few off, so I'm not constantly acting crazy. I've had a really intense experience and am so grateful for the whole thing! I didn't realize that where I started at the beginning of Think and Thin was really painful: I didn't know what to eat, worried about eating the wrong thing, eating under stress, etc. Now I really look forward to eating, I eat, then move on

The stress around food isn't there anymore. I realized I have not binged in a month and I started getting messages from my body where my body communicates to me what it wants and what it doesn't. One day during the program, I just dropped sugar and didn't want it anymore. I just feel really good! Two weeks ago, my trainer at the gym said "What are you doing? Something is different about you. You look slimmer!" It feels like a miracle, so many things just came together.

I faced my biggest trigger this weekend who is my father, did some echo tapping and was able to buy an iced coffee instead of binging on junk food. How am I not different? What I didn't expect that this was so much more than losing weight, but in fact has been a journey of losing my attachments to all the negative events in my life. I've never been a part of a program that has allowed me to really let go of so much emotional baggage before. I really look forward to my tapping time and have been excited to see what issues / beliefs are going to come up in the day's session. It hasn't been a linear journey, but a deep spiraling to my center. I feel healed.

Couple updates... Before and during the beginning of the class I was drinking wine almost every night. I was drinking 3-4 bottles a week. Just because I felt like it, I never felt it was a problem. Though I never tapped on the wine, I have found that I have no real desire to have more than a glass, and most of the time, I prefer to drink water! Assuming wine is about 600-700 calories per bottle, I figure that I am saving 1800-2800 calories per week AND at least $50/week! Thanks for what you do. I had a wonderful experience yesterday, I shared it in one of the other calls that when I go to the movies I like to eat popcorn, I can't sit at a movie and not buy a popcorn. So they offered me a deal if I pay another 25 cents they're going to give me a bigger size and I went into the movie theatre and I started eating, you know I had about a third or maybe a little bit more than a third and I felt full and I kept finding myself going back into the box and taking it so in the middle of the movie I started tapping, quietly I just started tapping I didn't say anything and as I started tapping I put the box of popcorn on the floor and I didn't touch it again for the rest of the movie, and then threw it away when I left the -- the theatre and that was so huge for me. I was amazed at myself.

I'm fabulous. I have been a hoarder of clothes for years. And after we did this process and I worked with my buddy for about six hours I have been releasing clothes easily without any emotion attached to it. I'll try it on if it fits, great, if I don't like it out it goes or if it's too big or too small and I just want to thank you and my buddy for your brilliance. I was with no effort just sitting there thinking “I think I'll go clean my closet.” And I had cartons and cartons and cartons of clothes. I mean some of them are like 25 years old. 

And always before it was if I released them i was letting of the desire or the possibility that again I could wear smaller clothes. And so many of them were so big, I couldn't even keep them up. Now clothes have been so painful for me and it was nothing to get rid of these things. Nothing.

I actually went to the cardiologist yesterday for a check-up and my numbers are really good. I was actually quite amazed. I had very high triglycerides and the cholesterol was high and the sugar was high. And so this last fall as I've gone through this program the numbers have dropped.
